• Training

  All training sessions take place in the main sports arena at the University Sports Centre, except for the occasional beach handball session on West Sands. All sessions are led by experienced members of the club and cater for both recreational and performance players. The University provides many opportunities for students to gain coaching qualifications during their time at St Andrews, running subsidised courses each year.

  Students who are interested in coaching within the club or beyond university can gain formal qualifications through the Student Handball Association (SHA).

• Competition

  The Handball Club currently runs a Women’s squad and a Men’s squad who compete in the Scottish Student Sport (SSS) Handball League. League games take place throughout Semester 1 and end part way into Semester 2.

  The club also plays a number of friendly matches throughout the year, organising regular fixtures against other Scottish universities to give all members of the club the opportunity to compete, improve their skills and build camaraderie.

• How to get involved

  Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced handball player, already attend the University or if you are thinking about attending, please get in touch to register your interest and find out more about our club.

  The University hosts a Sports Fayre at the beginning of each academic year during Orientation Week, giving prospective players the opportunity to talk to club members and sign up to ‘Give It A Go’ sessions.
